  Floriculture in India include flower trade, production of nursery plants and potted plants, seed and bulb production, micro propagation and extraction of essential oils. India's share in international market of flowers is negligible but India has the distinction of producing exclusive flower due to its geographical Identification, Bangalore rose is world famous which can fetch high value in International Market. India being a large country and varied agro-climatic condition suits floriculture of wide variety. As a floriculturists you have an opportunity to decorate the Mother India with flower. Floriculture being a sub division of horticulture provides flowers and ornamental plants for use in cosmetic, perfume industry and the drugs.

Career in floriculture is dynamic and require people with multiple character. One can join the field of floriculture as Estate supervisor, Farm managers, Floriculture experts and supervisors etc. Research and Development of new variety of flowers make the career more innovative and challenging.
