Flying Branch: 20–24 years (Relaxable up to 26 years with valid CPL)
Ground Duty (Tech/Non-Tech): 20–26 years
Commission Type
Flying Branch (SSC): 14 years
Ground Duty (SSC): 10 years + 4 years extension (based on performance)
Pension: Not applicable for SSC officers
Training Details
Location: Air Force Academy, Dundigal (Hyderabad)
Duration:
Flying & Technical Branch: 62 weeks
Non-Technical Branch: 52 weeks
Pay & Benefits
Flying Officer Pay: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 + MSP ₹15,500
Training Stipend: ₹56,100/month
Allowances: Flying, Technical, Hardship, Risk, etc.
Privileges: Furnished housing, medical cover, subsidized loans, CSD, mess, leave (60 days annual + 20 days casual)
Other Key Points
Tattoos: Allowed on inner forearms/back of hands with declaration
Marital Status: Unmarried at the time of course commencement
Narcotics: Strictly banned

Insurance: ₹1.25 crore cover (with AFGIS)
Sports & Adventure: Skydiving, rafting, mountaineering, etc.
Fitness Recommendation
Be fit for SSB:
