Exam & Application Details:

  • Application Dates: 17 Nov 2025 (11:00 hrs) to 14 Dec 2025 (23:30 hrs)

  • Exam Date: 31 Jan 2026 (Saturday)

Branches & Vacancies:

  1. Flying Branch

    • Short Service Commission (SSC) only

    • Vacancies: 34 (Men) + 4 (Women)

    • Also available through NCC Special Entry

  2. Ground Duty (Technical)

    • Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) & (Mechanical)

    • Both Permanent Commission (PC) and SSC

    • Total vacancies vary by discipline (tentative)

  3. Ground Duty (Non-Technical)

    • Branches: Weapon Systems, Administration, Logistics, Accounts, Education, Meteorology

    • Both Men & Women eligible (SSC)


Type of Commission:

  • PC (Permanent Commission): Serve till retirement age

  • SSC (Short Service Commission):

    • Flying Branch: 14 years

    • Ground Duty: 10 years + possible 4-year extension


Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality: Indian citizen

Age (as on 01 Jan 2027):

  • Flying Branch: 20–24 years (relaxable up to 26 for CPL holders)

  • Ground Duty: 20–26 years

  • Marital Status: Unmarried

Educational Qualification:

  • Flying Branch:

    • 10+2 with 50% in Physics & Maths

    • Graduation with 60% marks (any discipline) or B.E./B.Tech with 60%

  • Technical Branch (AE L / AE M):

    • 10+2 with 50% in Physics & Maths

    • 4-year degree in relevant engineering fields (60%)

  • Non-Technical Branches:

    • Graduate/PG degree with 60% (discipline varies by branch)


Exam Pattern:

  • Mode: Online (English only)

  • Duration: 2 hours

  • Subjects:

    • General Awareness

    • Verbal Ability in English

    • Numerical Ability

    • Reasoning & Military Aptitude

  • Marks: 300 (100 questions × 3 marks)

  • Negative Marking: –1 for each wrong answer


Selection Process:

  1. Online AFCAT Exam (except NCC Special Entry)

  2. AFSB Interview at one of five centres (Dehradun, Mysuru, Gandhinagar, Varanasi, Guwahati)

  3. Medical Examination


Application Fee:

  • ₹550 + GST (non-refundable)

  • NCC Special Entry: No fee


Additional Points:

  • Aadhaar card mandatory for registration

  • Candidates must be physically fit

  • Tattoos restricted (only inner forearms/back of hand allowed)

  • Drug/narcotic use leads to disqualification
