Indian Navy Invites Applications for Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers – Jan 2026 Course

The Indian Navy is inviting applications from eligible unmarried men and women for the Short Service Commission (SSC) for various branches and cadres. The course will commence in January 2026 at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala.

Important Dates

  • Application Start Date: 8th February 2025

  • Application End Date: 25th February 2025

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be Indian nationals and meet the educational and age requirements as specified.

Available Branches & Vacancies

1. Executive Branch

  • General Service (GS(X)) / Hydro Cadre – BE/B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks. (60 vacancies)

  • Pilot – BE/B.Tech with 60% marks and specific criteria for English in Class X/XII. (26 vacancies)

  • Naval Air Operations Officer (Observers) – BE/B.Tech with 60% marks. (22 vacancies)

  • Air Traffic Controller (ATC) – BE/B.Tech with 60% marks. (18 vacancies)

  • Logistics – BE/B.Tech, MBA, B.Sc, B.Com with relevant PG Diploma. (28 vacancies)

2. Education Branch

  • Various disciplines in M.Sc. and BE/B.Tech with 60% marks in Class X/XII. (15 vacancies)

3. Technical Branch

  • Engineering (General Service) – BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Marine, Aeronautical, etc. (38 vacancies)

  • Electrical (General Service) – BE/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Power Engineering, etc. (45 vacancies)

  • Naval Constructor – BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Naval Architecture, etc. (18 vacancies)

Note: Some branches have specific medical and eligibility criteria. Please check the official notification.

Selection Procedure

  1. Shortlisting – Based on normalized marks obtained in the qualifying degree.

  2. SSB Interview – Shortlisted candidates will be called for an SSB interview.

  3. Medical Examination – SSB-recommended candidates must clear a medical examination.

  4. Final Merit List – Based on SSB marks and medical fitness.

Training & Service Terms

  • Candidates will be inducted as Sub Lieutenants.

  • Training will be conducted at INA, Ezhimala.

  • The initial tenure of commission is 12 years, extendable by 2 years based on performance and service requirements.

  • Officers will receive a starting salary of approximately ₹1,10,000/- per month, along with other allowances.
